Carenado B200... patch required !

FSX/P3D. First flights aboard the Super King Air B200. And the obvious... The framerate is rather low on my I5 3,4 Ghz. But most of all, the price and the flight dynamic look wrong.

This is not a review. Just a small testimony on my first flights with the Carenado Super King Air B200. The aircraft desserves a real test. But not now. Not at this stage.

First of all, the price. At 39,5 US $, this is rather expensive considering some of us have already bought the King Air C90 a few months ago. And the "shell" is pretty much the same here. The main cockpit board is 90 % the same one. But, yes, the textures are much better, inside and outside. These shots should prouve this.
Second, the flight dynamics. Stall, stall ... and stalls. And i tried many configurations. Jeez, did they beta test the same aircraft or i am completely rooky at this ??
Third, the framerate reaches my computer limits. I reach 12-15 fps on France VFR or Orbx sceneries with my ATI 6570 at full settings, some 16-20 on average settings....

My opinion ? A patch is required !
But calm down Dom, Carenado has always released patches and service packs. On time ! This aircraft desserves it.

looks great, however i kind of agree with your comments on the cost. For a extremely similar flightdeck on the C90, so for that cost on something that the hard work was already done seems to much to me.....
I would like to get this but if there is problems with Frames (compared to the C90 that i own which is great) then that is a serious issues.

At the moment I'm giving it a miss - too expensive and I have the 90. I had been looking forward to it, but it's too much money for what it is. Sorry Carenado...

This aircraft is top of my list. I'll need to have a go at it.

Actually guys, I'd have to disagree with some of the comments made. Whilst performance is a little heavy, it's certainly not bad and very much in line with other recent releases, including the C90. I also feel the price is certainly fair - these guys are at the top end of town in terms of quality, and again the price is quite competitive compared to some other aircraft purchases I have made this year.

Carenado may be on the top end of quality, but that doesn't necessarily mean people are going to agree with pricing, especially when it is so similar to the C90. A discount on one if you own the other would certainly make me more open and quick to get the B200.

Just a comment about my remarks yesterday.

The price doesn't depend only on Carenado. I mean, the Chilean Peso is rather low versus US dollar.
So, shouldn't the price labeled in Dollar be cheaper ?

Thanks for the feedback. I am definitely not getting this. I was annoyed with the C90 enough to remove it from my system. The next turboprop I am lined up for is currently in beta... a majestic looking project, if you get my drift! :)

Dom when you review this bird presumably after a patch could you comment as to how it compares to the Aeroworx version for FS9 which was kind of a yardstick for twins GA in that sim. I'm not interested in the visuals but rather the flight model, systems and general hand-flying qualities.

Ta!

That would be fair. I will.

More fool you Dom re the cost for buying two aircraft that are so similar. That's your real beef isn't it? ;-)

Haven't had the stall issues you mention and my FPS are very good. Will have to push it a little more at a busy airport and see I guess.

PS - how do your FPS compare in the 90 model?

Beautiful aircraft !! I have their malibu jetprop and it's amazing, I love it !! It just looks so real inside, i kinda like it even better than RealAir planes, to me they look kinda "too clean to be real", (according to pictures, i don't have any realAir). Don't get me wrong, they're also nice, but I think carenado has a thing for making them "look real".

I wanted to get a c90, but it was "too short" for my liking. for me it's between B200 or PMDG jetstream.(i like their extra systems, like de-icing)

looks nice nonetheless and price seems about right, i wish they made it 37.95 instead of 39.95... :P ( i understand, it is not 2 hour work)

Making a wedding Blu-ray costs around $600-700 and for me it takes 2-3 weeks to get done(evenings and weekends, I work tile full time), but customers feel like they pay a lot for a little bit..a piece of plastic in a box with one hour of footage, hehe

Bottom line...boy do I want to buy this plane !
